Obituary

Marilyn Ann Billingsly
December 24, 1952 – May 18, 2025

Marilyn Ann Billingsly (née Baker), 72, of Kellyville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, surrounded by the family she so deeply loved.

Marilyn was born on Christmas Eve, 1952, to Lewis and Dorothy (Jones) Baker.

Marilyn graduated from Kellyville High School in 1971 and then attended Oklahoma State University. On May 26, 1972, she married Vernon Billingsly, beginning a partnership that lasted more than 50 years. Together, they raised three children: Mandy, Thomas, and Stephen. Marilyn embraced her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with her whole heart.

Marilyn was a devoted homemaker, mom, and grandma. She never let a person leave her kitchen hungry. She loved watching softball, especially when cheering on her daughter Mandy and granddaughter Tori and was a loyal fan of collegiate softball. Marilyn was also dedicated to her community. She cherished her years as a Camp Fire leader for her daughter's group and faithfully served as an election worker in Creek County for 30 years.

When she wasn't caring for others or cheering from the stands, Marilyn found peace in nature. One of her greatest joys was visiting Yellowstone National Park, a place she returned to time and again with a sense of wonder, reverence, and gratitude. Her sweet presence, generous heart, and subtle humor will always be remembered by those who were lucky enough to know her.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Vernon Gene Billingsly; her daughter Mandy Warne and son-in-law Robert; her son Thomas and daughter-in-law Rebecca; her son Stephen and daughter-in-law Christina; her grandchildren Arthur, Emma, Claire, Anne, Victoria, Carson "Sonny," and Brandon; her great-granddaughters, Penny and Leah; her sister Patricia Victory; and her nephew Bryan, as well as numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather Charlie Dalton "C.D." Saul.

A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, at Blue Bell Freewill Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
