IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark Lee
Palmer
May 14, 1955 – July 28, 2024
Mark Lee Palmer aged 69, passed away Sunday at his residence.
Mark was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Berryhill high school in 1972. Mark's experience as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps led him to a career as a firefighter, first working for the Sand Springs fire department and then Crash and Rescue at McDonald Douglas at the Tulsa International Airport. From there he went on to work at J & G Steel Corporation before starting his own company, Jenks Gate. Upon reaching retirement, Mark drove a school bus for the Bixby Public School. Mark was well liked and respected by his many coworkers and loved by the citizens in the districts he served.
Mark spent countless hours golfing, fishing, and taking care of his Corvette. He lived by the Marine motto; Semper Fidelis, "Always Faithful". Truer still are the words, "once a Marine, always a Marine". He lived his life as a man of faith, country, honesty, integrity, and love.
Mark is survived by his wife Kari and his children Lori, Heather, Zachary, Morgan, and Montana. He also leaves behind his brother Scott Palmer, in-laws Gary and Donna Gilliam, and brother-in-law Jeff Gilliam in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mark is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Betty Palmer, as well as his brother Gary Joe Palmer and brother Matt Palmer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Little Lighthouse.
The Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am Friday, August 9th, 2024, at Church on the Move West, 7314 West 41 St., Tulsa Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral Service, 35 south main, Kellyville Oklahoma.
