January 29, 1938 – December 7, 2019
Maryetta Collins, 81, of Sapulpa, passed from this life and entered her eternal Heavenly Home on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was born January 29, 1938 in Sapulpa to Haskell and Melba Golden. She was a lifelong, second generation Sapulpan a fact she was very proud of. She was a graduate of Sapulpa High School. In June of 1957 she married the love of her life Calvin Collins. Together they owned and operated Honey Valley Nursey for over 60 years.
One of Maryetta's greatest joys was serving her church. She gladly volunteered for any task, committee or job where a need arose. Maryetta was very involved in the community by volunteering with the Salvation Army, Creek County Election Board, PEO, Sapulpa Historical Museum and the Class of 1950's reunion committee. She thoroughly enjoyed sewing and baking and was well known for her cookies. Maryetta's greatest joy was always spending time with her kids, grandkids and all their friends. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Maryetta is survived by her children Perry Collins and wife Becky of Sapulpa, Trey Collins and wife Johnna of Sapulpa; grandchildren Tucker Collins and wife Stephanie of Sapulpa, Cassidey Riddels and husband Gaylon of Sherman, Texas; great-grandchildren Sloane Riddels and Callahan Collins; brothers Lon T. Golden of Fort Worth, Texas; Haskell Golden and wife Thelma of Drumright and Gerald Golden of Tyler, Texas; many nieces, nephews and a close knit group of lifelong friends that meant the world to her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Calvin; her parents Haskell and Melba Golden; favorite uncle Earl "Zeke" Shipman; sister Virginia Williams and husband Charlie Ray; sisters in law Joan Golden and Carroll Golden.
There will be a visitation from 6-8pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, 1401 E. Taft Ave., Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
