Melissa Matthews 55, of Sapulpa passed from this life on May 6, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family and friends.

Melissa was born on January 10, 1969, in Okmulgee to Milton Matthews and Gladys Ward. She graduated from Sapulpa High School. In 1995 she gave birth to her only son which gave her the strength to start her own cleaning business so she could be more involved in his life.

Melissa was a single mom and was very involved in activities at her son's school.

Melissa enjoyed in her spare time watching football, garage sales, and spending her days with her grandchild.

She was a caring, strong-willed woman that was always willing to help anyone in need. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Melissa is preceded in death by her parents, Milton Matthews and Gladys Ward, her sisters Sherry Hughes, Ernistine Matthews and brother Joe Matthews.

She is survived by her son Cory Mondier and wife Brittany, her grandchild Harleigh Mondier, her brothers Lee Ward and wife Earlena, Melvin Matthews and wife Carol, sisters Christine Jackson and husband Kerry, Jeanie Garrison and husband Rod and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 2pm, Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Sapulpa Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services 35 S Main in Kellyville, Ok, 918-247-7373.
