Obituary

Michael M. Friedman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and pride in everything he did. As a Senior Superintendent for a large construction company, he was deeply respected for his leadership, craftsmanship, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His work was more than a career—it was a source of pride, purpose, and legacy.

At the center of his life was his family. He was a loving father to three children, each of whom he raised with strength, humor, and steady guidance. He took immense joy in watching them grow, marry, and build families of their own. As a grandfather, he found new happiness and fulfillment, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren.

For 24 years, he shared a devoted and loving marriage with his wife, Sandy. Together, they built a life grounded in partnership, loyalty, and deep affection bond that remained strong through every season of life. Outside of work, he found peace and joy in the simple things.

He loved spending time outdoors, whether tending to his yard, enjoying nature, or working with his hands. He adored his puppies, who were constant companions and brought him endless comfort and happiness. He was always eager to share his hobbies and passions, never missing a chance to teach, talk, or connect with anyone willing to listen.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. He gave so much of himself to his family and friends, and the impact he made will be felt for years to come. He will be deeply missed by so many, but the love he shared and the memories he created will always remain.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Friedman; his sister, Michelle Mazor; his stepfather, Ray Northrop; and his stepbrother, Fallon.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy Friedman of Kellyville; his children, Jason and Stephanie Friedman of Okemah, Alisia Friedman of Bixby, and Justin and Taylor Friedman of Okemah; his sisters, Wendy Eddleman and Destarte Northrop; his brothers, David Friedman, Peter Friedman, and Tyree Northrop; and his cherished grandchildren, Jett, Parks, Paxton, Mila, Dawson, Rylan, Emmi, and JR. He also leaves behind 42 nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends whose lives were better because of him.

Services will be 2 pm, Monday, March 30, 2026, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 7660 N Memorial, Owasso, 74055. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-7373.
