Michael was retired from several inside parts sale's positions of 6 ½ years but he never retired from his honey-do's. However, two years of sickness caused his honey-do list to get quite lengthy.
Michael is preceded in death by biological parents John Maxwell Sr. and Evelyn Maxwell; foster-parents John R. and Mary Lou Wiederholt; infant half-sister Bobbie Lou Jones

foster-sister Theresa Marie Schneider and infant foster-brother Robert John Wiederholt.
He is survived by wife of 31 years Phyllis Hughes-Maxwell; biological daughter Kimberly Grandon of Kansas; stepdaughter Valerie Thomas of Arizona; stepson Roger Butler of Sand Springs; 5 biological grandchildren of Kansas; 5 step-grandchildren of Sand Springs and Arizona; one step-great grandson on the way; brother John Maxwell of Kansas; half-brother Frank Bernatowicz; foster-brothers Mike and Pat Wiederholt; half-sisters Sue Brown, Agnes Totman, Martha Arreola, Cindy Teichert, Gwen Zielke and 5 foster-sisters Betty Miller, Katie Rockers, JoAnn Bradford, Jackie Wiederholt and Margie Highberger and many other family members and friends.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville.
There will be a 2nd Celebration of life held in Garnett KS on Saturday, Oct 16th for those who want to attend. Contact Phyllis for further details.
