Michael Eugene Romine, age 65, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, stepped into Heaven on March 31, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Mike was born October 21, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ralph and Hester Romine. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School where he was an all-star baseball player. He went on to serve the community at the Sapulpa Police Department. While there, he worked his way up from patrolman and retired as Assistant Chief after serving over 25 years. As a detective, he was deeply committed to protecting children, playing a key role in initiating cases and advocating for victims while working to ensure offenders were brought to justice. His career was his pride and joy, and he was very proud of his service. After retiring from the police department, Mike continued serving others through his work at Paragon. He shared his leadership and investigative expertise, guiding those around him and remaining dedicated to excellence throughout his career.
Mike met and later married the love of his life Lisa Romine on May 17, 2002. He was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his children, who were his pride and joy. He especially loved supporting them in their sports and other activities and took great joy in being there for them throughout the years. Mike will be remembered for his generosity, his unwavering belief in others, and his consistently positive spirit. He always saw the good in people and was often the most positive presence in any room. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife Lisa, children; Heather Jaimes (Robert), Cami Gregory (Travis), Rocky Romine, Whitney Ortega (Adam) and Anthony Massa. Grandchildren; Hannah Jaimes, Colton Jaimes, Aspen Ortega, Lucas Ortega, Reagan Gregory and Sutton Gregory. Sister; Sandy Waltrip (Roger) and family. Brother; Randy Romine (Kathy) and family. And a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Hester Romine.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-3 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at The Way Church, 811 W Taft Ave, Sapulpa, OK, 74066. Friends and family are invited to come share their favorite memories.
