Michael Phillip Young went to be with our Lord on March 29, 2026.

Mike was born on May 9, 1939, in Greenwich, Kansas, to Grace Caroline Young and Delmar Earl Young. He attended Greenwich Elementary School, went on to East High School, and later graduated from Benton High School in Kansas.

Mike was known for his outgoing personality and ability to make friends wherever he went. In his younger years, he enjoyed life to the fullest—often joking and playing pranks on his friends and family.

In 1956, Mike proudly joined the United States Navy, where he faithfully served his country for four years. After his service, he spent much of his life self-employed, working a variety of jobs. He had a natural talent for sales and worked alongside his brothers and family members in many ventures, from building steel buildings to selling sewing machines and cars.

Mike had a passion for racing and spent several years driving his funny car, the Blackhawk. Even later in life, he enjoyed going to the track with his son John and friends to make a run down the strip. In addition to racing, Mike loved golfing, playing pool, fishing, and playing chicken track.

A man of strong faith, Mike believed deeply in the power of prayer. He spoke often about his faith and read his Bible daily. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now celebrating in heaven with his Lord and reunited with loved ones who went before him.

 Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Graveside services will be 2 pm, Friday, April 3, 2026, at Kellyville City Cemetery in Kellyville.
