Newman Nogosey Perez, a member of the Creek, Kiowa, Seminole, Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026.

He was born on May 25, 1982, to Gano Perez Sr. and Gloria Cleveland Perez. Newman spent his life in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated from Webster High School. He attended Little Cussetah Baptist Church.

Newman loved the outdoors and camping. He enjoyed drawing, listening to music, and creating lasting memories with his children. Known for his easygoing nature, he was always ready to lend a helping hand and listening ear. A loyal friend with a contagious laugh, Newman found joy in making others smile. His kind heart, bright smile, and witty charm will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his parents, Gano Perez Sr. and Gloria Cleveland Perez his daughter, Blakeley Perez; his son, Dexter Perez; four sisters Toni, Danielle, Sarah and one brother Gano Jr; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Little Cussetah Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026.
