IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peggy
Bachar
October 29, 1945 – June 14, 2023
Peggy Bachar, 77, loving wife and mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Peggy was born October 29, 1945 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to John and Mary (Kitty) Smith of Baxter Springs, Kansas. She was a proud graduate of Baxter Springs High School and attended nurse's training in Springfield, Missouri. Finding nursing was not suited for her, she became a buyer for the Jones Department Store in Kansas City. Peggy worked for most of her life in the banking industry, mastering every banking position offered. She retired from the marketing department at Sam's Wholesale Club in 2005.
Peggy married the love of her life, Samuel Bachar, on September 21, 1985. They have faithfully loved and cared for each other for the past 37 years. Peggy loved her yard, planting flowers, and watching them grow. She particularly enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels each day in her backyard while having a cup of coffee. She found enjoyment in shopping and in the thoughtful giving of gifts to others, believing that "it is more blessed to give, than to receive". With her outgoing personality, Peggy never met a stranger, and loved to chat with anyone. She had a genuine love for people, and all animals, but especially the wonderful, loyal, and loving Shih Tzu dogs she adored through the years that will be waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge.
Peggy was not only a devoted wife, but a loving mother to her only child, daughter, Shannon Smith. She enjoyed spending time with Shannon shopping, going to restaurants, short trips, or just having "girl talks". She has been a volunteer, helper, and contributor to her daughter's elementary classroom for the past 26 years. She loved hearing about each new class and their growth throughout the school year.
Peggy will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She had a strong Christian faith. Peggy loved and praised the Lord daily. She believed and had unwavering faith that she would walk the golden streets. She hoped the Lord would allow her to work in the flower gardens of Heaven. There were many loved ones she could not wait to see again and knew they would be cheering for her from Heaven's bleachers, as she walked through the gates.
Peggy's favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Her family prays Christ strengthens them, until they are reunited again. They take comfort in knowing that Peggy is now healed and made whole in Heaven.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Samuel Bachar, and daughter, Shannon Smith, both of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Kitty) Smith; and her big brother, Craig G. Smith.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00pm-5:00pm, Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville.
A private graveside interment will be at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services.
