Phyllis Jewel (Meyers) Hale 79, of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 26, 2026, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Phyllis was born November 13, 1946, in Sapulpa to Charles Andrew and Ida Mae (Moore) Meyers. Phyllis graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1964. She was a Homemaker; she was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at the Age of 13 by Bro. Doyle Combs.
Phyllis met the love of her life Dewayne Hale on Valentines 1963 then was married on December 21, 1963, they celebrated 62 years of Marriage this past December.
From this union they had 5 children, Sherri Burdean Smith, Christina Deanne Funkhouser, Charles Dewayne Hale, Pamela Jewel Dobbs and Joseph Dewayne Hale.
Phyllis loved baking, especially her famous Banana Bars that everyone loved and some people would pay over 300.00 at the Sapulpa FFA auction and loved volunteering at the food bank. Phyllis also had hospitality and didn’t want anyone to go away from her house hungry. Sunday afternoons were her game days with close friends to play Hand and Foot and Wahoo. Phyllis and Dewayne would play many hours of Wahoo to pass the time away.
She had a caring and compassionate heart and was always willing to give a helping hand. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Dewayne, Children, Sherri Burdean (Rick) Smith of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Christina Deanne (Doug) Funkhouser of Whiteland, Indiana, Pamela Jewel (Donnell) Dobbs of Henryetta, Oklahoma and Joseph Dewayne Hale of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Grandchildren; Valery (Mike) Smith, Ricky D (Andramache) Smith, Chelsea (Larry) Austin, Kalee (Trey) Godwin, Sydney (Tre) Gray, Nicholas (Roxy) Dobbs, Mackenzie Dobbs and Violet Dobbs 16 great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her Parents; Charles Andrew and Ida Mae (Moore) Meyers, 1 Brother Gene and wife May Meyers, 2 Sisters Rena & Husband Ray Will, and Sue Smith, son Charles Dewayne Hale, grandsons Mitchell Patrick Dobbs and Jarod Daniel Funkhouser and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, May 30th at 10AM, at the Sapulpa Church of the Firstborn located at 1345 E. Cleveland Ave. Family visitation is Friday, May 29th from 6pm-8pm also at the Sapulpa Church of the Firstborn. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
