Richard “Rick” Wayne Burlison, 70, passed from this life on April 7, 2026, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, following a brief hospitalization.

Rick was born on September 12, 1955, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Bill and Rosie (Marshall) Burlison. He graduated from Kiefer High School and continued his education at NEO College in Miami, Oklahoma. Rick and Cynthia Cosby Burlison have been married for 18 years.

He attended Jesus Name House of Prayer in Chetopa, Kansas. Rick enjoyed chatting with friends, hunting, raising fowl, and working with racehorses. Above all, he loved spending as much time as possible fishing. He shared that passion generously, teaching many younger family members the joy of fishing.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his children Walt (Becky) Burlison and Laci (Aaron) Dickson; stepchildren Christina Bennett, Jeremy (Stacy) Bennett, Anthony Wellman, Nicholas Wellman, and Kelly Reed; and grandchildren Brogan, Brynleigh, Everett, Warren, Savannah, Sebastian, Noah, and Eddy. He is also survived by his brothers Bill (Lou) Burlison and John Burlison, along with a host of other family and friends.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Rosie Burlison.

A service honoring Rick’s life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma. For additional information, please contact the funeral home at 918‑247‑7373.
