Richard Dean Osborn, 87, of Sapulpa, passed from this life peacefully at his wife's home with several family and friends Saturday, January 21, 2023. Dean was born September 17, 1935, in Pawnee County, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Goldie Osborn
.
Dean was a graduate of Sapulpa High School and had a successful career in telecommunications working with his own crews for many, many independent telephone companies across the United States with his own company, Osborn Construction Company. He had a thirst for learning and became an expert in many things, especially in the fiber optics industry. He made many friends in the industry and maintained those friendships for 50 plus years. He was Certified in and had a passion for Graphology and how it could be used to improve oneself. He was an avid reader, loved
studying
and doing natural
health
and fitness, self-improvement, and his favorite The Bible. He believed it's teachings in visualizing and calling those things that be not as though they are. He flew his own planes for years, instrument rated (actually had to crash land on power lines once and was able to jump from the plane to the ground below!), had fun riding across the country on his motorcycle, liked to boat and
both
water and
snow
ski. Playing his guitar by ear and singing at nursing homes and ministering to the residents brought him great joy. He also played the trombone. He could fix and build about anything. "Deano," as he was affectionately called by many, definitely had an adventurous and inquisitive spirit. He was a long-time member and supporter of Cross Pointe Church in Sapulpa. Dean had many passions, but spending time with family was his greatest joy.
He didn't just tell you, "I love you." He would tell you, "I love, love, love you." ... And, he meant it! ❤❤❤
He is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Goldie, and stepmother from 3 yrs old Bertha Faye Osborn, brother Darrel Osborn, son Rodney.
Dean is survived by his wife Ruth Esther (Lance) Osborn of the home; daughter Sheila Osborn-Bradley of Okmulgee and husband Stephen of Sapulpa; son Ricky Osborn of Edmond, grandson Jake Park of California, granddaughter Jennifer Boden and great grandsons Jonah and Jude of Edmond, sister Sue Schaefer of Mannford, BFF Gilbretta Livingston of Sapulpa, and many other family and friends.
