Graves
April 3, 1940 – August 9, 2021
Robert John Graves 81, of Sapulpa, went home to be with Jesus on August 9, 2021 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones. Bob was born April 3, 1940 in the town of Little Kansas, Oklahoma to Thomas and Bertha Graves. He grew up around Little Kansas before the family moved to the Sand Springs/Tulsa area. He attended Sand Springs School. Around 1963, he joined the United States Army Reserves and served a total of 6 years.
In the spring of 1965, Bob met the love of his life Ethel Bryant. They went on six dates before marrying on June 19. Bob and Ethel were married for 56 wonderful years.
He worked as a plumber for several years up until he opened his own plumbing business - Robert's Plumbing in 1977. He was in business for 26 years before semi-retiring in 2003. At this time, he was still involved in the plumbing business but only took on smaller jobs.
In his spare time and after retiring, he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with loved ones.
He was one of a kind. He was hardworking, dependable and loyal. His pride and joy were his family and he always spoke of how blessed he was. He touched many lives along the way and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Ethel; children Connie Wilson, Robert Christy, Carla Baker (Dean), Neal Graves and J.E.Graves (Buffy); grandchildren Scott (Brooke) Christy, Tanna (Paul) Jenkins, Sara (Kyle) Barnes, Amber (J.R.) Cook, Brittiney (Jon) Trammell, Westin Graves, Colt (Amanda) Graves, Cora (Garrett) Franklin, Nathan Owen (Madison) Wilson; great-grandchildren Hayden, Peyton, Ashlyn, Elizabeth, Braden, Ethan, Braxton, Hannah, Cady Jo, Addison, Hadlie, Levi, Ryett, Kash, Elliot, Owen, Luke & Lydia; siblings Raymond (Ann) Graves, Reta Spears, Relma Ball, Owen (Betty) Graves, David (Kay) Graves, Cathy Morrison and Ray (Diane) Graves.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Bertha Graves.
There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Services will be Friday, August 13, 2021, 2:00pm at South Heights Assembly of God. 1100 S. Wickham Rd, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
