Ronald Eugene Smith, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home on August 2, 2024. He was born in Mounds, Oklahoma to Bob and Opal Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles Smith, and his son, Dr. Gary D. Smith.

Ron is survived by his wife, Wanda Crain Smith, daughter, Shari Singleton Smith, grandson, Dr. Braden Singleton, granddaughter, Morgan Singleton, 5 great grandsons, stepdaughter, Jan Davis (Randy), stepson, Kelly Crain, 5 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.

He owned and operated S&S Holdings, LLC and Resco Enterprises, LLC, and in earlier days Creek County Lumber and Sooner Management, Inc. Ron was raised in Kiefer. He went to night school for 12 years to get a college education while providing for his family. He was a builder and developer, having built many affordable housing communities across Northeast Oklahoma for seniors and low-income families. Our patriarch has passed to his heavenly home, but his time here on earth has blessed so many. His wisdom, humor and giving nature were representative of who he was.

Dad was clear he wanted no service of any kind, and we will honor his wishes.
