Sharon Kaye Gibson, 81, was born January 1, 1942, to J. Philip and Mary Louise McBrayer Boerstler in Okmulgee. She was the first baby born in the county that year. Sharon passed away March 1, 2023.
She graduated from Henryetta High School in 1959 and Oklahoma State University in 1963. Sharon taught school in Jefferson County, Colorado for many years before returning to teach in Sapulpa Public Schools for 32 years. She married Ron Gibson in 1978 and they lived in Sapulpa until her death.
Sharon loved to travel and returned to the Rockies every summer to visit longtime friends. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, PEO and Eta Zeta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Philip Lee Boerstler and sister-in-law Babs Boerstler of Wichita, Kansas.
Sharon is survived by her husband Ron; sister Peggy Boerstler of Tulsa; daughter Lori (Dr. Steve) Ackerley of Tulsa; daughter Robin (Dave) Haught of Sapulpa and son Robert Gibson of Edmond; grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew and Luke Ackerley of Tulsa, Cory (Kelsie) Gibson of Woodstock, Georgia, Chris (Amanda) Haught of Kellyville and Jordan (Meagan) Haught of Sapulpa; five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the directions of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK 918-247-7373.
