IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry Leann
Stevens
October 16, 1956 – November 11, 2023
Sherry Leann Stevens, 67, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her family on November 11, 2023.
Sherry was born on October 16, 1956, in Sacramento, California to Lester and Shirley (Fisk) Upshaw. She graduated from Sapulpa High School where she was a member of the Sapulpa High School Marching Band.
Sherry met Darrell Stevens on a blind date. They married on June 8, 1974, and were happily married for 49 years.
Sherry had a caring and compassionate heart which was evident in all the children she spoiled, loved, and cared for in her in-home daycare she ran for 21 years. Darrell says, "Every kid knew all the Walmart workers by name."
She loved OU football, watching on TV and attending the games. From a young age, Sherry loved camping and fishing. It was nothing for her to catch the most and biggest fish on every trip. In the 80's she was a super fan of Mid-South Wrestling. She even made and decorated a birthday cake for one of her favorite wrestlers, Ted DiBiase. She also made the world's best brownies!
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Stevens. Her brothers and sisters-in laws, Kevin and Gigi Upshaw of Elgin, OK and Keith and Deebee Upshaw of Broken Arrow, OK. And the children she claimed as her own, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends she dearly loved.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Lester and Shirley Upshaw and her nephew Bradley Upshaw.
A special thank you goes to Carey Chapman and Rhonda McMunn for all your invaluable assistance to Darrell and your loving care for Sherry. We cannot begin to express our gratitude.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 17, 2023, at 10:00am at Traditions Funeral Home, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK. Sherry asked attendees to wear their OU apparel or crimson and cream.
