IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven Leon
Gibbs
November 15, 1966 – August 9, 2025
Steven Leon Gibbs, age 58, passed from this life and went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2025. Born in Claremore, Oklahoma, on November 15, 1966, Steve lived a life marked by resilience, creativity, and quiet faith.
He attended Jones Academy before choosing to serve his country by joining the U.S. Army, where he earned his GED. After his military service, Steve worked a variety of jobs before pursuing a certification in HVAC from the Climate Control Institute. He went on to work for several HVAC companies until becoming permanently disabled.
Steve was a man who liked to keep his hands busy and his mind engaged. He found joy in crafting dream catchers and had a deep appreciation for music—his playlists ranged from rock, country and gospel to rap. Though he didn't regularly attend church services, Steve nurtured his faith through Bible studies and sermons he listened to on the radio or watched on television.
He is survived by his children: Jeremiah Gibbs, Steven Gibbs Jr., Wesley Gibbs, and Tracey Bruner; sixteen grandchildren; and his sisters: Pamela Hardridge, Patricia Katie Jefferson, Sandra Roberts, and Lisa Finn. Steve also leaves behind many other cherished family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy Gibbs and Betty Jones Kimble, and his brothers, Michael Messer and Mark Messer.
Steve will be remembered for his quiet strength, his creative spirit, and the love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
