Terry (Allen) Tarr, 76, of Sapulpa, passed from this life Thursday, August 24, 2023. Terry was born October 7, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles Cecil and Nellie Louise (Rose) Tarr.
Allen was a commercial diver and worked for the US Department of the Interior and inspected federally owned dams in the US. He also worked for the State of Oklahoma and inspected and repaired concrete bridge pylons underwater. He was also a sport dive instructor and divemaster; holding certifications from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors and held international ratings as well.
During his diving career Allen managed scuba resorts in the British West Indies and taught specialty diving courses in shipwreck diving, deep diving, night diving and underwater photography. Allen also lived in the Cayman Islands.
Allen completed his undergraduate studies at Northeastern State University and finished at the University of Tulsa.
In addition to underwater photography Allen was a professional photographer topside. Photographing the ancient ruins in Copan, Honduras, The Aztec Pyramids outside of Mexico City and photographed the intriguing Inca Ruins in Marcha Picchu, Peru.
Allen has been married to the love of his life Lucy for 33 years. One of Allen's favorite trips was to South America where Lucy is from.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents Charles Cecil and Nellie Louise Tarr and cousins Carol and Sid Davis and Jerry Tucker.
He is survived by his wife Lucy; children Kevin Tarr and Brett Tarr; sister Beverly Buckner and husband John; cousins Gary and Janie Lewis, John and Cary Bush, Rick and Karen Lewis, Patsy and Willy Aicorn, Jack Whittenton, Karen and Charles Tarr, Chuck and Linda Tarr, Sandy Tarr, David Tarr, Terry Tarr and Cassy and Wayne Dobson and host of other family members and friends.
Memorial services will be 10am, Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Sapulpa. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-7373.
