Obituary

Timothy Patrick Spencer of Sapulpa passed away unexpectedly and far too soon, just five days after his 59th birthday on February 1, 2024.

Tim, fondly known by many as Red or Big Red, was born on January 27,1965 in Seattle, Washington.  His young mother loved him so much that she brought him into this world, then placed him in the care of others who were better able to provide a home for him.

Tim's forever parents, Mitchell Leon Spencer and Lorilee (Forgue) Neel, and older sister, Terry Lynn (Spencer) Arnold, welcomed him into their family when he was six weeks old.  Little sister, Jennifer Loise Spencer, completed the family and contributed the feistiness of another redhead when she was adopted in 1968.

As an Air Force brat, Tim traveled with the family from Tacoma, Washington to Ohio, the Philippines, Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas, and then Muskogee, where his dad retired and opened a business.

Tim graduated from Mounds High School in 1983, where he played football.  He also worked as a ranch hand.

Tim enjoyed watching sports and was an avid OU fan.  His sisters recall his love of Jolly Ranchers candy, strawberry Pop Tarts, and Count Chocula cereal.  He collected matchbox cars and baseball cards as a child.  He loved to set up his "army men" and oversee epic battles between opposing armies of little green soldiers.

His only child, Timothy James Spencer, was born on June 26,1984 to Tim and Cindy Daniels. Timmy proceeded Tim in death in in 2020 at age 35.  They are undoubtedly enjoying their reunion.

Tim is survived by his mother, Lorilee Neel, who is unfortunately unable to join us in celebrating Tim's life.  She is recovering from a broken leg from a fall that required two surgeries.  His sisters, 5 nieces, 4 nephews, two maternal aunts, 7 cousins, and dear friends, are all so sad to say goodbye.

Tiffiny Long, Tim's partner of many years, knew him better than anyone and will feel his loss most profoundly.  We pray that her heart will be mended and that she will experience the peace of God that passes all understanding during this difficult time.
