Obituary

Tippy Dwight Thomas, 54, of Sapulpa passed from this life on March 22, 2022. Tippy… Dwight… Lynnette's Husband…  regardless of what name you knew him by, he meant so much to all of us. He was soft spoken, constantly wearing a smile and always up for a new adventure, particularly those adventures that weren't his idea - always a trooper though! Dwight was born August 4, 1967, to Adam and Joanna Thomas in Claremore, Oklahoma. He'd tell stories of how the boys were ornery and their mom the protector from any real punishment from dad.

Tippy graduated from Beggs High School, where he once sacked Troy Aikman during a heated football rivalry.  After graduation he moved to Washington State and worked at the sawmill for 4 years.  Feeling the longing for home, Dwight came back to the Sooner State where he worked 29 years as a welder and finished his professional career with Creek County in agricultural maintenance.

Upon returning to Oklahoma, Dwight met and married the love of his life, Lynnette.  Special thanks to days spent rodeoing and the likes of Sandra and Rick for making the introduction. If you knew Dwight, you knew his love for horses and trail rides. The family was in Nuyaka, Beggs and Kellyville riding clubs early on before kids sports took over.

Dwight and Lynnette recently celebrated 29 years of marriage in which their life revolved around their family, friends and travel. Cruising and seeing new places with the Neumanns and Sullins make for some of their fondest memories.

Dwight devoted a lot of his life to his kids, Justin and Austin, whether coaching football, playing catch or simply showing up. He knew that being there mattered. He loved taking the family on trips that involved sand, fun and making their time together really count.

When it came to his friends, you all know Dwight had a huge heart and would give the shirt off his back to a stranger.  As part of his inner circle, you never had to question whether or not he'd show up, but rather which Big Dog shirt he'd have on when he arrived.

He is survived by his wife Lynnette; sons Justin, Austin and Dustin and daughter-in-law Katie; parent Joanna Sullivan; brother Adam Jr.; sisters Tammy and Tina; along with a host of close friends that he considered "Chosen Family", y'all know who you are.

Dwight is preceded in death by his dad Adam Thomas.
