Virginia Nellie Lee Hammond was born January 25, 1935, to Ellis Edward and Mamie Doll Messer in Bristow, Oklahoma. She passed from this life November 27, 2023, at the age of 88 years.

She attended grade school at Allen School through 8th grade and graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1953.

On March 6, 1957, she married Floyd Hammond Jr., and they welcomed four children. In addition to being a homemaker she managed the credit department at Telex Computer Products in Tulsa until she retired.

She is preceded in death by parents Ellis and Mamie Messer; husband Floyd Hammond Jr.; son Clinton Hammond and sister Daisy James.

She is survived by son Floyd Hammond III; daughter Jana Pitre; son Robert Hammond; brother Ellis Messer Jr.; six grandchildren Floyd Hammond IV, Nathan Hammond, Dean Olson II, Eric Olson, Ryan Olson and Katie Houston; sixteen great grandchildren Dazix, Chloe, Hayden, Heidi, Allen, Haskell, Jagger, Arabella, Caroline, Arthur, Hailey, Archer, Hazlee, Skye, Aero and Henry and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be 2pm, Monday, December 4, 2023, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville with burial to follow at Kellyville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5pm, Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S.
