Obituary

On October 8th, 2024, Virginia Lee Wilson Scott was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born October 24th, 1934, in Haywood, Oklahoma to Earl and Nettie Wilson. She attended Sapulpa High School. She worked at Wal-Mart for nearly 40 years. Virginia also owned and operated Perfect Touch tanning salon. Another job that Virginia enjoyed was working at special events such as TU football games and events at the Spirit Event Center and the BOK Center.

Virginia attended One Church in Glenpool, Oklahoma. She served in the missions field both in Mexico and in the local community helping with BINGO nights at the nursing home and senior living apartments.

Virginia married Dean Scott. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 19th, 2024. Together they taught Sunday school classes to youth and young adults for many years. Dean and Virginia opened their home to family and friends. They hosted youth nights and had Bible studies. Virginia was a second mom to many young people.

There are not enough words to capture the incredible person Virginia was. She had a caring heart and fun-loving spirit. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into her life and home. As a door greeter at Wal-Mart, she touched countless peoples' hearts and lives. Virginia loved spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh, play jokes, and had such a way with words. She had so many funny sayings, one of which was, "well blow my skirt up!" when something caught her by surprise. Virginia also loved to travel and shop. Most days you would find her with her best friend and sister, Earldean, in search of a new outfit or special gift. Not far behind would be Dean and John. Any opportunity you had to be with Virginia was an adventure and so much fun. Wonderful memories. Virginia was also a big sports fan. She loved her OU Sooners and arena football teams. She enjoyed going to games and cheering for her teams. More recently, she loved playing with her puppy, Abel Button. He was a sweet addition to Virginia's family. She enjoyed playing fetch with Abel, throwing his favorite toy, she aptly named, "Abel's girlfriend."

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dean Scott; two daughters, Phyllis Lewis, and Judy Collins; her grandson, Randy Lewis; her great-grandson, Noah Lewis; one sister, Earldean Billingsly; and her puppy, Abel Button. And a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Wilson, and Nettie Staples-Wilson; her son, Billie Hanks; brother, John Wilson; and sister, Neta Heath.

Services will be Saturday, October 19th at 1:00pm at One Church, 1600 E. 141st Str., Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033.

Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
