IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Walter (Dan)
Daniel Henson
October 6, 1948 – February 17, 2024
Walter Daniel "Dan" Henson 75, of Kiefer, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2024, at his home. He was born October 6, 1948, in Miami, Oklahoma to Walter and Virginia Henson.
Dan graduated from Fairland High School and after graduation enlisted in the United States Army. He faithfully served his country serving two tours in Vietnam. He was Honorably Discharged after his years of service. After his service he started a career in sales in the construction industry. Here he would then move on to concrete sales and later retired from Twin Cities.
Dan met and later married Carol Findley and together had two boys, Jared, and Eric. In his spare time enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and raising livestock.
After retirement Dan purchased a small farm in Mounds. Although he passed before all of his hopes on the farm had come to fruition, he was able to see the legacy he was leaving. Dan very much enjoyed being able to spend time with his boys (Eric and Ryan) at the farm, planning what was next to come. From fertilizing, mowing, and picking up rocks, there was nothing that he didn't want to be a part of. He was able to see the pond of his dreams not only completed but filled and stocked before his passing. His wisdom and guidance will be missed for years to come.
Dan was strong-willed, determined, and had an answer for everything. He could often be found at the local diner having breakfast, catching up with friends and giving advice to the waitstaff.
After his diagnosis Dan was determined to give it all he had and go down fighting. The battle was long, and it was difficult at many times, but he never gave up. To see his will, his strength, and his dedication was and is something to be admired.
