Obituary

Walter Bruce Smith, 69, of Kiefer, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2021.  Bruce was born September 24, 1951, in Hugoton, Kansas to Virgil and Dorothy Smith.  He graduated from Lincoln High School and attended one year at the University of Arkansas.  He was employed by Better Built Structures in Sapulpa for over 12 years. Previously, he sold Shopsmith woodworking tools for 18 years.  He sold real estate and built houses in the Sapulpa/Tulsa area for over 13 years.  Bruce met and later married the love of his life, Lora Lee Watkins on December 18, 1970.  They were happily married for 50 years.  He attended Bethany Holiness Church, of which he was a founding member and deacon.

He previously served as President of the Sapulpa Home Builders Association.

In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ATV riding in Colorado.

He had a caring and compassionate heart, coupled with a great big smile, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his faithful wife, Lora Lee, daughter, Debra and husband, Chris Kite, of Broken Arrow, son Junior Smith and wife Teresa, of Sand Springs, two grand-daughters, Heather and husband Jayden Oviatt of Kiefer, and Samantha Kite of Broken Arrow, a grandson, Jacob Kite of Broken Arrow, and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Rose Oviatt, due to be born on November 29, 2021 .

He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Smith, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, three brothers, Glenn Smith, Craig Smith, and Doug Smith, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Smith.

Services will be Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. , at Bethany Holiness Church, Sand Springs, OK.  Family visitation will be Wednesday, August 4, 6-8 p.m. , at Traditions Funeral & Cremation Services, Kellyville, OK.
