IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willa Elizabeth
Wheeler
October 24, 1941 – May 1, 2025
Willa Wheeler, 83, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma entered heaven on May 1st of 2025 with the rising sun while her children spent their last night with her at Ascension St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Willa was born October 24, 1941, in Bolivar, Missouri to her proud parents, Clifford and Wilma McReynolds. She graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1959. While attending high school, she worked at the Criterion Theater where she met a handsome and charming young man named Virgil Wheeler. They fell in love and chose to elope on December 1st of 1960. They were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Jeffery. Sadly, Virgil Wheeler proceeded her in death.
She was an extremely talented artist; from ceramics, oil paintings and even cake decorating. During the Bicentennial year, she made it her mission to customize fire hydrants in Sapulpa.
She was a volunteer Ceramic Instructor with the Sapulpa Senior Citizens Center when it was located on S. Bixby. The Senior Citizens called her "Eagle Eyes" because she could find any missed places of paint on their ceramics.
She was a Camp Fire Leader, Home Room Mother, PTA member, Sunday School Teacher.
She loved making birthday cakes for her family. She loved cake decorating so much that she made it a career which started at Target. Safeway and Homeland were to follow. Later, she worked at Reasor's for over 25 years before retiring. She always loved it when she saw a smile from her customers while they looked at the cakes on which she put in so much love.
In her spare time, she enjoyed caring for her horses even at the age of 76, which was a lifetime passion. She also enjoyed gardening and having painting parties with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Another passion she had was oil painting. You knew she truly loved you if you received one of her paintings.
She was also proceeded in death by parents Clifford and Wilma McReynolds, brother Sydney Ray Bonner, and sister Beverly Knox.
She is survived by her children, daughter Kimberly Cobb and husband Jon, son Jeffery Wheeler and wife Carmen. Grandchildren Stephanie Cobb, Brandon Cobb, Madison Cobb, MaKaylie Renfrow and Ashleigh Mathews. 6 great-grandchildren. And a host of family & friends.
