William (Bill) DeLaney 83, of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
William (Bill) was born on March 10, 1936 in Ochelata, OK to Naomin Leonidas (Lonnie) and Doris DeLaney. He graduated from Mounds High School in1954 and was Salutatorian of his class. He also had an associate degree in Traffic from TJC. He was Assistant Vice President at Squaw Transit for many years and completed his career in the trucking/transport industry.
Bill was a founding member of the Sapulpa Park and Recreation Committee and served for 20+ years. He Volunteered in the Outpatient Surgery area at St. Francis Hospital for several years until his health would not allow him, and he then transferred over to the Warren Clinic in Tulsa Hills until earlier this year.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Sapulpa after he transferred from First Christian in Mounds 4 years ago.
Bill enjoyed going to the lake, fishing, traveling, and being with family and friends whenever he could. He was a very friendly to everyone and never met a stranger in his life. He was always willing to help where he could and will be greatly missed by many.
He was preceded in death by His mother Doris (Roe) DeLaney, Father Naomin Leonidas (Lonie) DeLaney, and wife of 50 years Glenda (VanHorn) DeLaney.
William is survived by:
Daughter Karen DeLaney-Dater and grandchildren Rachel and Shane Miltner, Crystal and Bill Malloy, George Ickes, Dustin and Jessica Ickes and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
Son Lonnie and wife Denise DeLaney and grandchildren Sarah and Jeremy Montgomery, Ben and Emily Ludiker, Nic and Jasmina DeLaney and several great grandchildren.
Son Rodney DeLaney and significant other Heather Rouell grandchildren Stephanie DeLaney, Brandi and Charlie Wilson, and Taunee DeLaney and great grandchild.
Daughter Lorri DeLaney and granddaughter Torre DeLaney and great granddaughter on the way.
Son Kacy Delaney and grandsons Toby DeLaney and Dakoda DeLaney.
Sisters Polly McDonald and Sandra Brown along with many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation at the DeLaney home at 6:30pm, December 9, 2019, 2023 Timberhill Dr., Sapulpa. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the First Christian Church, 220 E. Lee, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
