William Joe McClure, of Sapulpa, went to sleep and left in his 9 wheel wagon that he spoke about when Jesus and family came to retrieve him on November 25, 2022, at 6:40 in his home.
William they called him Joe was born May 10, 1937, in Nowata Oklahoma to Edward LeRoy and Martha Marie (Horn) McClure. He was the last living sixth child second boy of 7 siblings.
He graduated from Nowata High School. He joined the United States Navy Corps from 1957 through 1961. Honorable Discharge Commandant 8 th Navel District with Attack Squadron 195 Nas Moffitt Field. He watched over the planes and probably is now.
His brother Ed wanted him to meet his wife's best friend Linda Jean McClure. She was working for Bliss Cafe in Nowata Oklahoma when daddy walked in to get something to eat and seen my momma for the first time. They were married 1963 through 2010 when she went to the Lord's arms in the same home.
They had a wonderful life and had two beautiful daughters; Leslie Jo McClure Barrett, granddaughter Lauren Paige Barrett, great-granddaughter Hartlee Raye and great-grandson Barrett Wayne Kelley and grandson Marty Ray Barrett Jr all from Sapulpa; Jeannie Ann McClure Barrett her husband Duke Alan Barrett, granddaughter Samantha JoAnn Barrett, great-grandson Zander Marcus Ware, great-granddaughters Nymeria Grace Miller and Zamaria Joelee Miller from Mounds. Granddaughter Amanda Mae Barrett, great-grandson Gabriel William Barrett and great-granddaughter Miranda Mae Barrett from Sand Springs and a host of relatives and friends.
He worked and retired from Phillips 66/Conoco. He drove a tanker truck most of his life. Delivering gas to our families. Upon retirement mom and dad RV'd through the states. Enjoyed traveling from lake-to-lake fishing and seeing the sites of the world together.
Services are pending at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
