CREEK COUNTY – KELLYVILLE, OKLAHOMA – Former Chief of Police & Decorated Vietnam Veteran – William T. Mcwhirt Sr (Mack), was called to his reward on Monday May 1st, 2023.
He was born to Daniel Boone & Helen Beatrice McWhirt in Oakland, California on October 5th, 1946, and was 76 years old.
He married the love of his life, Loretta Mae Murphy on 2 December 1965, they were married for 56 years before Loretta was called to the Lord in 2022.
He faithfully served his Country and his Community all his adult life. First, as a U.S. Navy Sailor for 23 years and then as a sworn officer of the law for over 30 years.
Mack was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed vintage automobiles and spending time with his friends and family.
Mack was a solid source of support and a voice of reason during troubled times for his family and anyone he considered a friend. His sage council and advice will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his sons William & Michael McWhirt and his daughter Tracy Reece, 9 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, May 6th, 2023, at the Yale United Methodist Church, 108 South C Street, Yale Ok, 74085.
Graveside service will immediately follow at the Lawson Cemetery within the Yale City limits. Additionally, anyone interested may join us for food and fellowship, after the graveside service, back at the church.
