Slanker
December 23, 1941 – March 20, 2026
William (Bill) Slanker entered his heavenly home on March 20, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Bill was born in Bartlesvillle, OK on December 23, 1941, to Verla and Chester Slanker, He grew up in Bartlesville and graduated from College High in Bartlesville. After high school Bill joined the Army Reserves and was active until December 1, 1967. During this time he went to work at Cities Service/Occidental and retired from there after over 30 years.
Bill married Cynthia Baxter, on June 19, 1976, at her parents’ home in Sapulpa. She was the love of his life for over 50 years!
Anyone that knew Bill loved him. He had the kindest soul. He was always there to help anyone with anything. Rarely did you see Blll without a smile on his face. He was always a good sport about everything and always up for fun! We will never forget that smile and laugh we saw so often.
Bill is survived by his wife Cynthia Slanker of the home. He is also survived by 3 children, Brent Slanker of San Clemente, CA, Sean Slanker of Kingston, NY, and Chris Slanker of Sapulpa, OK.
He is survived by 6 grandchildren, Jessica Merton (Ernie), Kayla Slanker, Bretton Slanker, and Weston Slanker, Jesse and Correna Gann. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren Emilia Merton, Parker and Evie Hance. A sister Barbara Magana and brother Dan Slanker.
He is preceded in death by his parents Verla and Chester Slanker and his brother Ed Slanker.
We want to give a special thanks to Suncrest Hospice who did a wonderful job caring for our Bill.
Memorial services will be 10 am, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-7373.
